For someone who was facing the possibility of riding his last bike race, American Floyd Landis turned out a superb performance over 3 weeks of racing. I saw Stage 15 where Landis demolised the entire field to recover and regain the initiative that he lost just the previous day. All hail the new champ of cycling. Worth mentioning Adreas Kloden's performance on Saturday's time trials and Oscar Perreiro who took the mayo jaune by overcoming a 30 minute lead in a single day over the treacherous Alps. But Landis hung in there, dug deep when it mattered most and single handedly won the stage and race to become a true champion. He now faces a Hip replacement surgery from which no biker has ever returned to competitive racing.
